Sunday Morning Collection was born when entrepreneur couple Sirpa Juhola-Loippo and Kimmo Loippo traded their busy Pirkanmaa routines for the quiet rhythm of Pyhätunturi.

In 2018 they discovered an old lakeside business residence once owned by the Finnish newspaper Aamulehti on the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi. They knew at once they had found their place: Aihki log walls from old pine trees, visible local craftsmanship, and a surrounding forest felt like home straightaway.

As Sirpa puts it, “The house gives the same good feeling as a lazy, happy Sunday morning.”

The Loippo family restored the property with care. Original details and textiles were kept and cherished, while spaces and systems were gently updated for today’s comfort. From the start, we aimed for a light footprint and modern comfort.

Sculptor Upi Kärri designed the iconic Kelokielo chandeliers and fireplaces; Annikki Karvinen’s textiles and local artworks bring texture and color. Even the hewn-mark axe hanging on a log wall hints at the way these buildings were shaped: by hand, patiently, with respect for the material.
